To resolve a need for development samples and a need for rapid production build-up.
WHY MICRO METALSMITHS?
Micro Metalsmiths was able to write a generic CNC machine tool program from which the prototype samples were produced from solid. At the same time, the program was used with only slight modifications, to cut the injection moulding tools for wax patterns for production quantities. As the prototype went through several design iterations, all modifications were incorporated into the original program so that the new prototype could be updated to reflect the customer's changing requirements.
TIMESCALE:
The customer's prototypes for product development and the prove-out of the production tooling were both completed within a ten week time span. |
