REQUIREMENT:  To manufacture a plaque that was to be embodied into the pavement where the public could walk upon the piece. The plaque had to have fine detail and be hard wearing. WHY MICRO METALSMITHS? Micro Metalsmiths was able to guide the Artist into the type of detail that was able to be reproduced and suggest suitable metals. The artist produced a wax copy of the required plaque and the casting was performed by Micro Metalsmiths using the best technique to give a bright finish with the unique surface finish and detail that can be produced with the process. The plaque can now be seen at York Cathedral embodied into the pavement.
